Catechists at Holy Cross

A special Mass for our year 5 and 6 students from our state school scripture classes was held on 11 November as a celebration for our year 6 students finishing primary school scripture. Fr. Bogdan welcomed the children by saying that as he had visited them in their classrooms during the year and it was now their turn to visit him.

Thank you to Steve Sillato, who takes time off every year to play his guitar and sing at this Mass. The children loved the live music as shown by the energy in their singing. Thank you Mrs Dell and the year 6 Holy Cross children who joined us for Mass. It is always good to see our Parish and state school communities come together.

Finally, thank you to all our Catechists who taught the children and accompanied them on the buses, and who helped in the hall with the catering. Without all your help this day would not be able to continue each year. This was our 14th state school Mass.

We are looking for more teachers and helpers for 2026. We teach Monday at Pretty Beach, Wednesday at Empire Bay, Thursday at Copacabana and Brisbania, and Friday at Kincumber.
